THE HEADLINES!!!

I got a kick out of reading this article. It seems that a businessman from Tacoma Washington on a business trip to the Far East was sent to the wrong place. The gentleman one Eugene Nelson was supposed to be on his way from Hong Kong to Taiwan, but ended up in Taiyuan, China which is deep in it’s interior, and not on the coast as Taiwan is.
Mr. Nelson survived in this town for a few days, with no money, very little help from American Express in getting money wired to him (It seems that you can't even use American Express where it is supposed to be taken.), getting a flight out of there, almost getting hit by a car, and a definite language barrier.
The AP Article does not state who was responsible for the error. Mr. Nelson is an engineer for Intel ® so I am figuring that the Travel Company that has the corporate contract with Intel may be to blame. If that were the case and this was me the headlines would read “Retired Special Forces Soldier Shoots Travel Agent”
Also on this we cannot overlook Mr. Nelson as far as his degree of fault. If I got a ticket that stated Taiyuan and not Taiwan, I would be questioning this fact by going to the local Chinese restaurant and asking Wonton, “Hey is this how you spell Taiwan in a literal translation into English?” Come to think of it I probably wouldn’t do that because every time I go to Mr. Wonton’s and I say thank you Mr. Wonton to the manager, he doesn’t look too happy. So he would probably tell me yes, and send my happy ass to Taiyuan instead of Taiwan. (Maybe Mr. Nelson did this very same thing in Washington?) Irregardless here we have an educated man with an engineering degree, and he can’t even get to the right city. Just makes me wonder if there should be a minus sign preceding the Intel Logo. (-INTEL®)

AARGHHH!
"Irregardless" is just wrong! You can use either "regardless" or "irrespective", but don't form some kind of portmanteau from a mix of them, please!
Other than that - funny story :)
Now I am getting english lessons on my blog and have to look up portmanteau in the dictionary
Taiwan isn't on the coast, it's an entirely different country and also an island.
I guess a poor choice of wording. What I was trying to say was that he should have known something was wrong when all he was doing was flying overland, and the landing was not preceeded by an overwater approach
Why is everyone picking on you? Tell them to shut the hell up!
Well if explanation is needed or clarity is needed on a certain subject, or if an improvement of my verbage is warranted fine. However I do have a computer geek trying to trace these people and will then show up at their houses with my bat and ask them if they want to play a little baseball! :)
