Many of us have children and or step children. The usual norm of the day from birth to 18 is at first a parent stays at home till the child(ren) is/are ready for school. Then they go to school and the stay at home parent gets a job. Then normally the only view a parent has of the classroom is what comes home in the way of report cards, notes, test scores the occasional teacher conference and other points of distribution from the teacher. Most people (Including myself) take for granted what goes on in a day of the life of a teacher.

In the past few years I have volunteered at various levels of the grammar school system. I have had the opportunity to view the conduct and behavior of classes from 1st grade to 5th grade and I have to say thank god that there are people that choose to take this profession, they can deal with it, and that are exceptional at it.

From what I have seen, I could not deal with that job for 5 days a week 6-7 hours a day. The next time that you are talking to a teacher thank them for the job they are doing.
